Codemotion Madrid and Conferences in second half of 2025

Past month May 2025, I came back to Codemotion Madrid after my absence the previous year. The last time I was there was when I gave a talk (Spanish). Click in the image to access it 👇🏻

State of the Codemotion Madrid

My expectations were up.

After 1 year of not attending this tech conference, which is meant to be one of the MUSTS in Spain, I was very excited.

On this occasion, the organization changed to a new place dedicated to summits, and the facility was quite big.

However, for a tech event like this, the organization of the companies’ spots was a bit disconnected from the rooms dedicated to the talks.

I found fewer people than in other years. It was a general sense, from what I spoke with other attendees and people from the companies present at the event.

The lunch was not included in the ticket. Sorry, in my opinion, paying €228 should include lunch. I know that this is a tricky part of the organization, but c’mon!.

The talks were interesting, but:

• Too focused on AI. There were a couple about MCP, which I found useful.

• Missed solutions to other problems, which are still challenging for software engineers, and people explaining how to solve them.

• Missed big players, important tech companies, like RedHat or similar. Engineers working on those companies have solutions for problems that most of us have not faced yet, and having such experience is crucial.

I can say, today, I don’t have the intention to invest that money in the Codemotion Madrid 2026. I wish to see this event shine again soon.
