Happy New Year!
2025 is kicking off and with it, I want to share with you the new initiatives I want to put in place second year for The Optimist Engineer.
📋 What has been achieved
First things first, let’s revisit what was the plan at the beginning of 2024 and see what I’ve achieved
✅ More than 600 Optimisters subscribed! The milestone of the year has been achieved by far. Thank you for your trust folks! More concretely, 644 Optimisters (+100 than the original goal) from 81 on the same day in 2024. This means 563 new subscribers in 2024; a 695% increment.
✅ Weekly article. On January 2024 I’ve determined to publish (at least) 1 newsletter issue every week. I wrote 55 issues in 2024, taking into account the scheduled stops in August and the end of the year. This is something I achieved and I’m very happy about it because you folks provided great feedback about the pace of the newsletter. I think this is the right tempo for 2025 too.
✅ Add a Podcast. Yes, I achieved this milestone. In the first season, I recorded 5 episodes with amazing collaborators. And right past month the second season started! You can check them out here.
✅ Video Podcast. Yes, I achieved this milestone too. In this case, the goal was to have a YouTube Channel, which I have here. Saying Video Podcast people were expecting Podcast episodes with video and not only audio. The first season of the Podcast was completely in audio and the second season I’ve started with video.
✅ Sharable resources. Yes, I achieved this milestone too. I have a nourished bucket of templates and resources right here.
⚠️Cross-writing newsletter. So, so, in this milestone. I wrote a newsletter in December featuring Gabor Till, but nothing else. The goal was assumed to have more than 1 collaboration!

🆕 Bring new raising technologies. As Software Engineers and Tech Leads, we must be aware of what’s coming up, so I will bring it to you in a nutshell.
Apart from that, I will continue bringing value to you with real-life learnings about Software Engineering, Technical Leadership, and Technical Growth.
Next issue will come to your inbox on January 8th, 2025.
Nice stuff! Podcasts are something I would love to do (2026?). Whatever you learn about podcast creation, I would definitely look forward to learning about it!
Great review!
Would be interested in writing together in 2025!!
