Make your work visible. This is one of the biggest problems Software Developers (we) have.
โ๐ผ The problem: When a company grows, you need to do more than do the work if you want to get the next promotion.
๐๐ผ You need visibility.

๐ Tell people what you achieve
This is simpler than the one about participating in meetings, even for introverts.
The idea is: You achieve something, you send an email.
๐๐ผ I would recommend proceeding like this:
Pick up a goal you achieved. From the current week, whether you consider it big or small. It could be bugs fixed, system improvements, outages prevented, new observability in place that could help your team and others.
Prepare an email. I find emails more โformalโ than chats in Slack, but it depends on the company. You can use some communication frameworks, but I leave you a very good article from
at the end of this email that can be super relevant for you in this aspect.Send it. To who? For sure, to your manager (remember about helping your manager to help you). I also include the rest of my team, my Product Manager, and people involved in the project I worked with (if any). If I consider the goal a big one, I include my Engineering Director as well.
